Sexual Abuse in the Schools

There are two mistakes many make when looking at crime, particularly crimes-against-persons. The first mistake is to say "bad things happen everywhere;" and the second mistake is to treat each as an isolated incident. While crimes-against-persons can and do happen nearly everywhere, the point one should look at in both of these mistakes is the frequency of which they occur. Although there are plenty of topics to choose from, I am specifically referring to the frequency of sexual abuse against students by school personnel. One isolated incident would be bad enough; but these "incidents" occur on a regular basis. Perhaps it takes an outsider to say there is something very, very wrong here-- because no one else says it or sees it.
